As the year 2010 comes to an end, Google has released a list of top applications among 250 installable apps. As a recap of the closing year and a preview of the best in the year ahead the Marketplace has put Applane CRM in its list of Top 3 in the CRM category. It has been ranked 3rd amongst the top installed apps in the CRM category on Google Apps Marketplace. We thank the numerous users for their continuous faith in our product offering.
The rating given by Google is a proof of our product’s success on the marketplace since its launch in May, 2010. Now that we have launched a new version in the Google App Engine, we believe we have improvised on our product and made it more intuitive, faster and scalable.

We have been silent for quite some time. But this silence was not a sign of stagnancy but of the coming of a new wave in the world of online CRM for small and mid size businesses. After weeks of sleepless nights and intense hard work the Applane Team has come up a new version of Applane CRM which will have its servers in the Google App Engine.
Applane CRM is now faster and more scalable and has successfully moved to the Google App Engine. Applane CRM is now integrated with Billing API from the Google Apps Marketplace. Now you no longer have to worry about cumbersome payment process. Just register your license requirement and like you book online tickets for a movie, you can now purchase Applane CRM licenses.
PS: Though we are doing the best from our end, since this is a transition phase from one server to another there may be certain inconveniences caused regarding data transfer and server downtime for a couple of days. I humbly request all users to please bear with us and support us by immediately contacting us as soon as they face any such problems. We assure you that they will be dealt with on top priority basis.
Last but not the least I thank you all for all the patience and support you have shown so far. We really appreciate your patronage.

From the time we released the first version of Applane CRM in the marketplace we have received exciting responses. Users have also shared intelligent feedback along with feature requirements. We have suitably incorporated the requirements and feedbacks which have been in our product road map and will be releasing them to users in a phased manner in our upcoming releases.
We have put together a new version that we believe will be better not only in terms of the added features but also in terms of the new and improved Sales Life Cycle. Now you can go through the entire sales process of Applane CRM without having to go through different tabs. Reporting has also been made more intuitive and thus clubbed as a separate category in itself. Please find below the list of new features that we have incorporated in the New Applane CRM:
- New improved intuitive import data feature
- Sales cycle now also supports workflow for individual contacts
- Capture lead from websites
- Support for Google Billing API
- User Defined Columns
You will have access to most of the above mentioned features immediately after the launch. There are some features, however, that are in progress and might just take a few more days to access. They will be so because we have a tie up with Google Apps so things need to be worked out in that regard. I request all users to please give us a little consideration on this.

On the 9th of November, Google held a webinar on “How Google Apps and integrated cloud-based CRM’s can change your business.” In the webinar 3 CRM vendors (Applane, ZOHO and Rainmaker) were invited to showcase their products to clients.
Please read below what Google had to say about the webinar:
Customer relationship management (CRM) is the most frequent search query in the Google Apps Marketplace, showing a trend of businesses moving their customer management to the cloud. The flexibility of cloud-based CRMs means there is no longer one traditional type of CRM, siloed in an on-premise server. Marketplace CRM apps can now help you manage your contacts across any channel, including emails, phone calls, projects, and even social networks, while working in sync with many other tools that you use.
Join us in a live webinar next Tuesday, Nov 9th, where I will host three Marketplace CRM vendors to discuss how your business can use cloud-based CRM apps:
Rodrigo Vaca, Director of Marketing at Zoho
Sachin Garg, Director of Strategy & Business Development at Applane
Bart Lorang, CEO of CloudCenter, the maker of Rainmaker
The Google Apps Marketplace offers a wide range of richly integrated CRM apps, take this unique opportunity to hear directly from the developers of these three apps.
You can read this blog from the link below:

During the webinar, in presence of close to 200 people, all three presenters highlighted the value proposition their CRM offers to its users with the help of some use cases and case studies. Towards the end, in the Q/A session user queries were addressed. Some of them were on data security, privacy policy, data migration etc.

Endorsing the great reviews we’ve been receiving in the marketplace since our launch, Vangie Beal, a veteran online seller and frequent contributor to eCommerce reviewed Applane CRM on behalf of eCRMGuide.com and gave a review on the application.
Quoting from the review, “The Google Apps Marketplace currently offers a number of CRM applications, including social CRM and project-based CRM apps. One CRM application that is currently receiving positive reviews from Google Apps users is Daffodil Software’s Applane CRM.
Applane CRM lets business and enterprise users track a complete sales lifecycle; you can track contacts, sales, RFPs, determine which of your sales team members are keeping on-task, who is producing sales, analyze marketing trends, and even send bulk emails from within the application to customers and contacts.”
